Taster workshop
2 hours / £80 per person
These sessions are for beginners or students wanting a refresher! We teach a maximum of two people at a time so you really will have constant attention with instruction how to throw on the wheel. You should have time to make three pots which we will trim when they are dry, bisque fire, glaze and glaze fire for you.
We hope you will enjoy this workshop so much that you will continue with some rolling sessions.
Mini course
5 hours / £165 per person
Our mini courses consist of three separate sessions; the first session is two hours duration and you will learn how to wedge the clay and to throw on the wheel; the second session is also two hours and you will learn how to trim your pots; the last session will be for an hour and you will learn how to glaze your pots.
This course will cover the basics of creating hand thrown pottery. The three sessions of this course can be arranged on dates that you decide! We teach a maximum of two people at a time.
Rolling sessions
2 hours / £60 per person
Once you’ve started with a taster workshop or a mini course, you’ll hopefully want to continue and develop your new skills. Book yourself two-hour sessions where we will help to improve your throwing and glazing and experiment with the art of decorating your pots – you decide what to do, we are by your side to help! For the supply of clay, tools and glaze we charge a small fee of £8 per kg. We call this weigh and pay!
Studio time
2 hours / £45 per person
These sessions are for students who feel confident in throwing and basic technical work and don’t need us to assist! We are obviously there to help if needed, but it really is for students who can create by themselves. For the supply of clay, tools and glaze we charge a small fee of £8 per kg. We call this weigh and pay!
Kiln hire
Full kiln / £75
Our Skutt KMT827 is 45 cm wide and 65 cm deep. We will help you to load it, set the programme and unload it. We have a good selection of kiln furniture. We usually bisque fire at cone 06 and glaze fire at cone 6. Please contact us if you just need to fire the odd piece.
